How Solar Works

Photovoltaic systems consist of solar panels, an inverter and a metering system. Solar panels are fitted to a north facing, shade free roof by the use of appropriate brackets and/or mounting frames.

Energy collected by the solar panels is sent through an inverter which converts the direct current (DC) into alternating current (AC), the form of electricity used in most homes and businesses.

The system is connected through a meter to the main electricity grid, which allows the use of traditional electricity when there is a shortage of sunlight and enables you to sell any excess power back to the grid.
